Tomas Saraceno |On Air

Since a few years Tomas Saraceno (born in Tucuman, Argentina 1973) has been working on what the theoretician and architect Yona Friedman would call a "realizable utopia". That one of building up natural micro-systems, human communities, self-sufficient urban settlements, suspended in the sky. These cities would be able to travel with the movements of the clouds, so to overcome the limitations and conflicts typical of national borders. It is a realizable utopia because it is based upon rigorous scientific premises and the use of innovative materials.

Before this vision will become reality, Saraceno is conceiving objects, images, installations, different kind of projects, in order to communicate and anticipate this possibility.
In his first European solo-show at Pinksummer gallery, Saraceno will drastically, but in an almost invisible fashion, change the gallery's space. Due to this intervention the audience will have the chance to experience directly the emancipation to gravity's laws and to reconsider the forms of social, human and spatial relations. It will be like air would take form?
