With the exhibition + performance by Patrick
Tuttofuoco, that will be held on the evening
of Thursday 13th May, My Private unveils
its second artist. My Private is a special project curated by Barbara Casavecchia and Anna Daneri started off in 2003, with Gregor Schneider as #1. Conceived as a series of solo shows, it discloses a choice of artworks belonging to a private collection, and presents them to the public just for one evening, as if offering a quick glimpse into a personal caveau. Every exhibition is based on a site-specific project, with which the artist occupies the spaces of a private building in Via Pasteur, Milan, and is accompanied by a limited edition catalogue offering some clues to the most secret aspects of his/her practice. For My Private #2, Patrick Tuttofuoco creates a new, monumental installation entitled Y, realized and performed live in collaboration with the electronic music duo BHF. Notes, mirrors, lasers and neon lights become the fragments of a wider discourse, reflecting the dynamic nature of Tuttofuoco's research. Among the participants of La Zona in the latest Venice Biennial with the installation Brazil (here exhibited in a revised version), Patrick Tuttofuoco (Milan, 1974) is one of the most energetic artists of the Italian young scene. Currently, he is at work on a new project for the Museum of 21st Century, Kanazawa, Japan, commissioned on the occasion of its opening next October. |
