![]() |
The English artist David Tremlett (born1945) has had several exhibitions in French institutions over the past 20 years. For the Grenoble museum, and for the first time, David Tremlett has agreed to that invariably sensitive exercise represented by the retrospective. The exhibition will bring together some 60 pieces from public collections in France and elsewhere--London's Tate Gallery, Rotterdam's Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum, and the Carré d'Art in Nimes, for example, not forgetting major private collections in Hamburg, Lugano, Rome and Milan, and, last but not least, David Tremlett's own private collection. It will illustrate all the artist's research projects, from the conceptual works of the early 1970s to the monumental compositions he has been at work on from 1976 right up to the present day, either using pastels on paper or applied directly to walls. In tandem, a certain number of "Wall Drawings" will be produced specifically for the retrospective. The retrospective will have a second venue in the Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato which will be held from October 20, 2006 to January 7, 2007. ![]() |
