Vittorio Corsini | Living

Once again Vittorio Corsini turns to reflect on architecture and on the connection between the body and space. And draws architectural floor-plans, after having chosen them among those millenarian ones, which religion has imagined for it’s own place of worship. Towering them in confront of a normal history book vision and reducing them in confront of reality. And proposing them in the power of geometrical images, from black abstract lines, to narrate mighty, secular walls and where (in reality) many lives, millions of lives, have lived prayed hoped, in moments of approaching their own self (and God).

Today those images, those plans, splendid intense, crystal clear, become carpets, soft elements of domestic architecture, fundamental life-companions to many types of persons at different latitudes in every part of the world, in different ethnics and races and just as many cultures, “places” that receive “spaces of new foundation”. Carpets that maintain the power of those signs and those dreams, after having seen handed over by their own side, as on the most simple bedside table, a book. A book that can be read only by one lucky person, he who will come into possession of it, he who will discover it’s hidden title “self training” understanding this way the sense of it, the aim, the purpose: an “instrument for mental gymnastics” for the “growing of the self”. Tome, with an orange silk cover (reference to the general title of the exhibition “orange mood” that alludes to the positive energy of the creative action, different from the “blue mood” state of meditational being) which contains in fact some sort of operating instructions, in the form of a travelling story (to read between the lines and therefore in a larger meaning) which it’s author, victoriously, has undertaken to tune with those thoughts. Precious unique handbook baedeker in which to find back in sequences of double opposed pages, in a continuous ping pong of information, poems and images, drawings and notes and summons selected amongst the new thinkers of this modern age which is ours, like the Marc Augé of the ”perhaps we are learning to change the world even before imagining it”. Yes.
On the walls, texts that are searched for and found in those words which the sacred writings of the four major religions have suggested, indications, references, examples referring to the idea of living, to the sense of living, to the world of living. To continue taking care of things and, most of all, people.
